I finally finished a project that was giving me a headache and found time to write the outtake. I'm leaving you the banner and a little teaser (it's unbetaed so forgive any mistakes). I hunched over, feeling my stomach tightening, and I knew that this was more than just gas.
“Bella, are you okay?” asked Alex, standing next to me.
“I think it’s time.”
“Time for wh—“
He didn’t get to finish what he was asking, for in that moment my water broke, right onto both of our sock covered feet.
Alex closed his eyes, looking a little green. “Oh god, please tell me that’s not what I think it is.”
“I didn’t pee on you, if that’s what you are wondering.”
Alex groaned. “I don’t know if the alternative is worse.”
I giggled at his disgusted face. “Just help me get to the bathroom, and please clean this up.”
“Shouldn’t I be taking you to the hospital? Should I call my dad? You’re having a baby, Bella! Should I call an ambulance? Should you even be standing?”
I shook my head, trying not to laugh at his panic, and shook his shoulder. “Calm down, Alex! No, you don’t need to call an ambulance, but call your dad. We still have time, my contractions are still far apart and I want to shower before leaving. It’s going to be okay…”
He took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay, I just don’t want you to be in pain.”
