I've been accused of cyber-bulling, of flaming, of being a person who has no clue what the hell I'm talking about just because I'm not a mother. Well, I don't need to have my own kids to recognize child abuse, as I don't need to be a rape victim to see when someone is glorifying sexual abuse. I'm a a single, childless and professional woman that has her morals clear and her eyes wide open.I am PROUD to say I belong to a group named Twilight Fanfics Addicts, I'm an active participant with their group on facebook and I always get my email whenever the fantastic ladies that run the group update their blog. This group has also decided to take stand a draw a line on the kind of stories we want to be available for us to read on fanfiction.net and in our fandom in general.
This story that we are talking about in this article talks about pedophilia, child abuse and incest, all the while glamourizing these acts.

Amongst all of these referrals, a fic was recently bought to our attention that has made it so that we can no longer sit by and just do this on our own, we now feel the need to reach out to our affiliates and other like minded blog owners and ask that we all publicly take a stand and draw a line somewhere. For the sake of the future of this fandom, because we genuinely believe that no self respecting author would willingly continue to let the characters that they birthed and created be treated so appallingly, we will lose the right to read and genuine fic authors will lose the right to create these stories because Stephenie Meyer and similar authors will put a stop to it. I would if I was her.
The standards have slipped dramatically, incest has become common place in fics, fetishes that have been termed mental illness are considered entertainment, and sadly child abuse is being disguised as a romantic relationship. We have been vocal in the past few days against a fic that we believe is nothing less than a step by step guide on how to groom and condition a child to be receptive of sexual advances. This fic appears to have been written by a female and “she” is now claiming to be a victim of bullying and unjust persecution as the result of negative reviews and requests to take down the story. The few of us who have read this fic doubt that this story is written by a young female. There is too many references to what can only be termed as classic grooming tools. Furtive sexual touching, emotional blackmail, treating them as an adult etc. In this fic 18yr old Edward admires his 6yr old sisters body, leaves lingering touches while bathing her. Spanks her in order to control her, with a hair brush no less, she calls him “Sir” and he offers her after care. There is a couple of phrases that raise some serious red flags with us.

So I ask our members to please take a stand and do what is right.
